Michelle Flowers-Taylor, Ed.D. is an educator with expertise in promoting cross-cultural education through research, media, and service.

With over 20 years of leadership experience in media production, education, and entrepreneurship, Dr. Michelle Flowers-Taylor combines her skills and passion to create and deliver impactful stories that inspire action and transformation across industries.  

As the co-founder and impact media maker of Legacy First Partners, LLC,  she writes, produces, and directs award winning media projects that showcase the stories of companies, communities, and transformational leaders who are driving long-term economic prosperity and positive global impact. One of Michelle’s most recent documentary film projects, REIMAGINING FREEDOM WEST, has won multiple international awards and recognition, including the Better Communities Award at the United Nations’ Habitat Better Cities Film Festival. 

Michelle is also dedicated to her corporate board service.  She currently serves as the board chair of the Stanley Ann Dunham Scholarship Fund, which empowers young women through education and leadership development.  In addition, she serves on the board of directors for Girl Scouts of Western Washington. 

Michelle earned her BA degree in communications and anthropology from the University of Washington, her masters degree in anthropology from Temple University, and holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from Loyola Marymount University.
