Dr. Michelle Flowers-Taylor is a visionary storyteller and strategic communicator with over 20 years of leadership in media production, education, and social impact. As Chief Media and Communications Officer, she leverages her expertise in narrative-driven advocacy to amplify the transformative power of commercial real estate—bridging community development, economic equity, and global sustainability.

Her award-winning documentary Reimagining Freedom West—which earned the Better Communities Award at the United Nations’ Habitat Better Cities Film Festival—exemplifies her ability to craft compelling stories about place, belonging, and systemic change. Through interviews, research, and immersive storytelling, Michelle illuminates how spaces shape lives, turning complex urban narratives into actionable insights for industry leaders and policymakers.

Previously, as co-founder of Legacy First Partners, LLC, Michelle produced and directed impact-driven media projects that elevated the voices of companies and leaders advancing equitable prosperity. Her work has consistently centered on the intersection of community resilience and economic innovation.

Committed to leadership beyond the screen, Michelle serves as Board Chair of the Stanley Ann Dunham Scholarship Fund, empowering young women through education, and as a Board Member for Girl Scouts of Western Washington, fostering the next generation of changemakers.

Michelle holds a BA in Communications and Anthropology (University of Washington), an MA in Anthropology (Temple University), and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership for Social Justice (Loyola Marymount University).
